This study was conducted to investigate the knowledge of standard precautions, moral sensitivity, organizational culture for infection control, and compliance with standard precautions among general hospital nurses and to examine the influence of these factors on nurses¡¯ compliance with standard precautions. For this study, data were collected from 169 nurses working at a general hospital located in J Province using a questionnaire for the period from July 17 to August 24, 2020. The results of this study showed that the participants¡¯ score for compliance with standard precautions was 3.63/4 points, 86.93/100 points for knowledge of standard precautions, 4.89/7 points for moral sensitivity, and 5.74/7 points for organizational culture for infection control. Further, a significant positive correlation between compliance with standard precautions and organizational culture for infection control (r=.412, p<.001) was observed, while the factor of organizational culture for infection control (¥â =.417, p<.001) was shown to influence compliance with standard precautions. Therefore, in order to improve the performance of standard percautions in the context of the ongoing outbreak of new infectious diseases, it is necessary to develop and apply institutional ? level infection prevention education programs that take into account the organizational culture for infection control and moral sensitivity of infection management.
